YarmouthI’m mom to three wonderful mini-dachshunds. Venice is 6 years old, and quite the little ham. He loves to show off all his tricks, especially the “pickpocket” trick that won him a blue ribbon at the 2009 MSPCA Walk For Animals. He recently passed all the requirements to earn his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.
We traveled to eastern Tennessee in July to adopt senior Farrah from Coast To Coast Dachshund Rescue. After extensive dental work that included 4 gum grafts, she is healthy and happy and has blended into our family beautifully.
Peanut is our newest family member, who joined us at the beginning of December. Formerly abused, tossed from a car along Route 495, and then shuffled between several homes who didn’t know how to help him overcome his fears, Peanut is quickly learning how to live life as a happy dog who will never be hurt again. He’s just been neutered and had lots of dental work done, and will be ready to join Venice, Farrah and me at work shortly.
Sadly, we lost our precious 18-year-old Maggie Mae, and two-time cancer survivor Marie, just seven weeks apart in May and July. Their beautiful spirits will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved them.
A huge thank-you to Dr. Larry Venezia and the entire staff of Hyannis Animal Hospital for the skilled and compassionate care my little dachshunds always receive.
